Thought Criminals Outreach is a combined effort from extrodinary individuals, all from very diverse backgrounds, who want to create change within the prison populations in a positive way, by illustrating how good choices in times of adversity can win in the end. This group consists of myself and-
- Kerry White, nationally known stand-up comedian who was homeless at one point in his life and became a successful performer who makes his audience think for themselves
- Tanisha Bagley, domestic violence survivor and author of "The Price of Love", Tanisha holds her audience members accountable for their actions from a victim's standpoint
- Jason Thompson, former addict now an accomplished performer across the country and in Iraq for our troops, Jason brings humor and humility to facing life after addiction and conquering your inner demons
Each appearance begins with a short stand up set by the players present, with a message delivered with humor. We then allow the institution to decide how best to use our presence, in a more intimate setting where we can dialogue one on one with the attendees, and get to the real problems they are facing. We point out the ripple effect their violent actions have on the victim, the families, and the communities they live in, in a way that really brings it home how their actions cannot continue when released. By going there and forcing them to address their own mindset the rehabiliative process can truly begin.
